Where is my order being shipped from?

Your order is being shipped directly from the vendor / alpaca product producer in South Africa. Please see vendor overview for more information.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Please check our shipping information page for full details as the arrival of the order is dependent on the shipment method chosen and which product vendor.

What is my tracking number?

Tracking numbers are sent via email when your order has been placed. For details of how to track your parcel, please see our shipping information page.

Does The Alpaca Shop stock all the products listed on the website?

If the item is listed for sale on our website and it does not say “out of stock” the alpaca product producer has stock of it. We do not list items for sale that are not physically available. Some items however need to be made first and a notification of such will be sent.

Does The Alpaca Shop drop ship?

Yes, we primarily drop ship. We sell items that the vendor / alpaca product producer has on their premises and or production location.

An item is out of stock, when will it be available?

Not all items will be available 365 days a year. Either the alpaca product is currently produced or will be produced once an order has been made. Notification of such will be sent.

I want to know when an item is back in stock!

You can click on the product page and you will see if the product is not currently in stock. Please send us an email for an enquiry. As soon as the item is back in stock we will email you to let you know it’s available again. 

Will my country allow the importation of alpaca products?

Most countries allow the importation of alpaca products for personal use if requirements are met. We have dealt with international deliveries successfully so we have a good understanding of what is required.

Do you combine shipments for items purchased across the different platforms such as on the vendor’s own website?

Unfortunately, we can’t combine shipments for items bought on other websites besides The Alpaca Shop, as it is its own billing/filing system.

How are the alpaca products packed?

Wool will be packed in such a way that it will not crunch, fashion articles will be folded to minimize knitter. Standard sealed carton boxes are our shipping preferences.

I live in Area X. Can I collect my order from the nearest vendor?

Fully paid orders can be collected from the vendors / alpaca product producers if they give such a choice in the checkout option. Please see vendor pickup location on the vendor info page. We as The Alpaca Shop do not have physical retail premises, retail staff, or payment facilities on our premises and do not accommodate for walk in customers. Due to security reasons we are non-negotiable on this.

I would like a quotation for various alpaca products!

We are an online retailer and do not issue quotations. Everything we sell is as listed on our website with prices and pack sizes.

I’m not in South Africa and also use a different currency, how will I be able to get alpaca products from your site?

Special orders to other countries will be processed differently and direct communication will be held.

We would like prices for a tender!

We do not participate in tenders, nor do we supply our products for any tender processes.

Do you offer bulk prices?

Yes, on certain alpaca products we can offer bulk prices. Please send us an email at info@alpacashop.co.za for a price.

We would like to sell our alpaca products on The Alpaca Shop !

We have strict criteria for the trading environment of alpaca products. Should you be willing to meet these criteria and wish to become a vendor please email info@alpacashop.co.za with details of what you would like to supply.

I need your banking details so I can pay for some items I saw on your website!

We will only send banking info once an order has been raised. If you haven’t placed an order yet, please set an order to checkout. 

I am processing checkout and there are no shipping options available for my area!

Please check that you have left a valid postal code for your street address. 

I require a tax invoice for my order!

Please insert your VAT number next to your company name when ordering. Tax invoices can be automatically downloaded from your order confirmation. 

Why have I not been charged VAT on the alpaca products I have ordered?

We regularly receive the comment from customers asking why we don’t charge VAT when most other companies they deal with do. The simple answer to that question is that The Alpaca Shop is in its infant shoes and below the legal threshold of being VAT registered. As our business grows, so will the requirement for us to be registered once that yield has been reached. Some of our vendors do however charge VAT, which is automatically allocated to the official listing price.
